Dr. Tubs Reglazing received an email the other day about whether or not the Roger family should paint their bathroom first and then refinish the bathtub or refinish their bathtub first and then paint the bathroom.
This is a common dilemma people face when they renovate or do any remodelling. We always suggest that everything is done first and then the tub.
There are many reasons for this, one of them being, as the saying goes, “it’s always better to be safe than sorry.” In other words, if you just refinished your tub and it looks absolutely beautiful, shiny and smooth, how would you feel if the painter came in afterwards and ruined the glaze either by paint spilling on it or something dropping on it and denting the glaze?
As you guessed it, Dr. Tubs suggested the Rogers get their bathroom painted before refinishing the bathtub.
